Originally from the Netherlands, Alex graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2007.
Prior to this, she worked for many years as a Sports Therapist, holding a BSc (Hons) in Applied Sports Science and working in International Rugby and Basketball.
She has been specialising in Musculoskeletal conditions, with a special interest in upper limb and hand conditions, for many years and has been working at Advanced Practitioner level for the past four year, including the completion of an MSc in Trauma and Orthopaedics and being responsible for county-wide training in wrist and hand conditions.
As Team Lead (clinical) for the First Contact Practitioner (Physiotherapy) services across East Derbyshire, Alex's forte lies in clinical problem solving, diagnosis and plan of management, and she is passionate about the clinical development of her team and providing excellent over-and-above care and management to her patients.
Outside work she can be found out on her road bike, trail running or off on adventures with her six-year-old twin girls.
