White House Clinic supporting “48 Miles in 48 Hours” endurance challenge in support of Sheffield Mind
Ben will be running 48 miles in 48 hours starting at 9pm on Thursday the 16th of July. He will run 4 miles every 4 hours, with the final run beginning on Saturday 18th July at 5pm.
Sheffield Mind are a charity who help to support people’s mental health and well-being. At present, the importance of mental health and well-being has been at the forefront of society with more people than normal feeling isolated and at high risk of developing mental health issues due to the lockdown and COVID-19.
The link between exercising and improved mental health and well-being is well documented and of late, Ben has re-found his passion for exercise and specifically running. He reports that this has really helped him to maintain a more positive mindset through these unprecedented times. This important message is the motivation for him undertaking such a gruelling task.
Alongside donating to the cause, The White House Clinic will be offering Ben the full package of advice and treatment to assist his training plan and conditioning for the challenge, alongside treatment and advice for aiding his recovery and helping to prevent injuries through appropriate ‘load management’. We hope that this will make this exceptionally difficult challenge that little bit easier for him!
