Mr Jason Howard MCSP HPC MSOM MAE

Jason qualified from Sheffield in 1987 and worked in London for a number of years at The Royal London Hospital and for some time in the country’s first NHS Sports Medicine Clinic.
Jason has undertaken numerous post graduate courses including MACP (Nottingham University) and Membership of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine (MSOM) and has always felt that running a successful private practice has to have a commitment to the local community and to contribute to by way of integrating NHS physiotherapy services to GP’s and consultant-led clinics with the private clinics.
For over fifteen years The White House has provided excellent onsite physiotherapy clinics to GPs, Hospitals and local businesses. In search of ever improving the services run by The White House Jason undertook an MBA at Sheffield Hallam University and has continued to develop both the business and physiotherapy services.
Jason enjoys family life with three young sons, he runs regularly (normally with Daisy their retriever hot on his heels!), enjoys skiing, cycling, climbing and golf. Amongst his hobbies, renovating old properties is always high on their family’s hit list.
Simon Leonard MCSP HPC
Simon graduated from Keele University in 1999 and initially worked for the NHS as well as a football team, before finally joining the Whitehouse physiotherapy team.
He is involved in running the Doncaster branch and also works at the Sheffield and Dronfield clinics. When not at work he enjoys outdoor activities such as running, walking, cycling and general keep fit. Less sensible activities include rock-climbing, his large motorcycle and kickboxing!
Steve Canning MCSP HPC AACP

Steve has been working at the Whitehouse for three years. He qualified from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002, following in his family’s footsteps.
He carries on the tradition of family physiotherapists into the fourth generation. Steve treats a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, and his particular interest is in spinal rehabilitation through manual therapy and exercise.
He has recently completed the level one Maitland concept course, which focuses on pain relief and restoration of normal movement through mobilisation and manipulation. Steve is also a qualified and registered musculoskeletal acupuncturist.
In his spare time Steve is a keen runner, and has recently started competing in Triathlon’s. He is also an experienced snowboarder, intermediate mountain biker and novice climber. You can find him at the Whitehouse in Sheffield and also the Hathersage clinic.
Irralee MCSP HPC

During her school years, dancing was Irralee’s passion, and so her interest in the human body and the desire to help people led her to pursue a career in Physiotherapy.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from Sydney University, Australia, in 1990. She spent 16 months rotating through different departments at Gosford Hospital, in New South Wales, before travelling to England.
Initially she did some locum Outpatients work around the country, before travelling in Europe. She then obtained a permanent post working on the Orthopaedic Ward and Outpatients at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital from September 1992 to October 1993, whilst doing some evening work at the White House Clinic.
She started working full time at the White House Physiotherapy clinic in October 1993, which also included working some hours at BMI Thornbury Hospital for a year from November 1996. Between September 1995 and June 1996, she completed a Certificate of Post-Registration Combined Manipulation at Sheffield Hallam University.
In 1998 she went to work in a private practice for one year in Hamilton, New Zealand. Six months after her return to the White House Clinic, she left work to have her first daughter, in 1999. Since then, she has continued to work part-time, and had another daughter in 2001.
Anna Wilkinson MCSP HPC

Anna Wilkinson qualified from Sheffield Hallam University in 2001. She specialises in the rehabilitation of Neurological and Orthopaedic/ Musculoskeletal injuries.
She has since been working in both Private Practice and the National Health Service. She has worked in a variety of settings both in the hospital and Community.
Anna has extensive post-graduate training and is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice (Neurology). Anna also works at Sheffield Hallam University researching the use of technology in rehabilitation of Neurological conditions.
She has been involved with patients with Pulmonary Hypertension investigating effects of exercise and rehabilitation. She has made a fitness DVD for patients! Anna has presented at national and international conferences on benefits of exercise and rehabilitation.
Christine Antunes MCSP HPC
Christine qualified as a physiotherapist in South Africa in 1995 and started her career in a general hospital, doing mainly respiratory and orthopaedic work.
She then spent three years in private practice, before moving over to England. Christine has been working at the Whitehouse since 2002, and she currently works part time.
Christine’s special interests are orthopaedics, musculo-skeletal problems and rehabilitation. She has also done her Pilates instructor training with APPI in London.
She is married, with a daughter and another little one on the way. In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit at the gym and swimming. She also loves going to the movies and dancing!!
Hayley Mount MCSP HPC AACP

Hayley graduated from Keele University in 2005 with a BSc (hons) Physiotherapy. Following this she worked for 2 years in the NHS in Chester, and was also a voluntary assistant physiotherapist at Witton Albion Football Club.
Hayley has been working at the Whitehouse full time since October 2007, and she has recently commenced a part time MSc in Sports Injury Management and Rehabilitation at Sheffield Hallam University.
Following graduation she has completed post graduate training courses in movement analysis, and orthopaedic medicine. She is also qualified in acupuncture and is an accredited member of the AACP.
She has professional involvement with transplant patients, and worked as a volunteer physiotherapist at the British Transplant Games in Sheffield in June 2008.
Since then she has gone on to provide regular physiotherapy at training meetings. Hayley will be travelling to Australia in August 2009 as one of 3 physio’s to support the British Team at the World Transplant Games.
Her personal interests include general fitness, attending the gym and weekly speed skating sessions at Ice Sheffield.
Sally Fawcett MCSP HPC
Sally graduated with a BSc (hons) Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University in June 2008. She has recently completed massage for physiotherapists and Pilates for physiotherapist’s courses.
Prior to gaining her physiotherapy degree she worked as a personal trainer. Fitness is a passion of hers, both teaching and participating! She is an advanced gym instructor, having completed numerous courses including posture assessment and correction, science of torso training, kettlebell instructing and spinning.
In her spare time Sally enjoys running and cycling. She has completed a number of half marathons, and has recently stepped up to the marathon distance.
Robert Leckie MCSP HPC

Rob has been a popular practitioner in Sheffield for many years.
He has a great deal of experience in the treatment and management of Sports Injuries having completed a MSC in Sports Medicine several years ago.
Rob enjoys keeping active and has been involvement with many high profile athletes over the years.
Katie Bell MCSP HPC

Katie graduated from Sheffield Hallam in 2008 with a first class BSc honours degree Physiotherapy and secured a job as a Physiotherapy Teaching Assistant at the University for one year which was a role split into clinic, teaching and course administration.
Katie started working at the Whitehouse clinic in June 2009 and is the lead Physiotherapist on the Acute Spinal service running across central Sheffield, receiving referrals from 27 GP practices and over 100 GP’s.
Katie is the Physio for the local Rugby team in Sheffield which involves lots of cold days and evenings in mud and rain, but offers another aspect to Katie’s professional job. Katie is looking to start her MSc in Musculoskeletal rehabilitation soon, and has recently qualified to run back fitness classes. She is a “Move for Health” champion in the South Yorkshire area and is always promoting healthy living to patients!
Katie is a keen sports player and coaches Sheffield Hallam netball team and plays in a local ladies league. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and is the ‘Monica’ of the group always cleaning, cooking and entertaining!
Julia Baron MCSP HPC

Julia graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University in 2007, having previously completed a BSc (Hons) degree at Sheffield University in Biomedical Sciences.
After qualifying, she initially worked as a junior physiotherapist at another Sheffield private practice, working with patients with musculoskeletal problems, and also at the South Yorkshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre. She joined the Whitehouse team in January 2009, working part-time whilst continuing to work at the MS Centre 2 days a week.
Julia has undertaken postgraduate courses in manual therapy and Pilates, and has been teaching Pilates classes now for 2 years. She is also about to begin her Acupuncture training in January 2010.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys anything involving outdoor adventure sports, being a keen climber, mountain biker and skier. She is also a member of local Adventure racing team "Accelerate", competing all over the UK in multisport endurance events.
